  Our Wine Selection

The Orchard Street Chop Shop features an extensive all-American wine list with a concentration of harder-to-find red wines. The wines are stored in a glassed-in wine room on the second floor at the Top of the Chop, our more casual dining room. Unlike most restaurants, we serve two sizes of our wines by the glass, both a three-ounce tasting and a large eight-ounce glass. As most people know, restaurants generally serve a five-ounce glass pour so here we are raising the bar on our wines by the glass. Also, if you cannot find a wine on our list that you prefer or would like to bring in something different, you may do so for a nominal $20 corkage fee.

We choose not to serve any wines with synthetic corks or the new “screwcaps”. We feel that although there may be some advantages to the new packaging, it does not allow a wine to properly breathe and age. We are also in support of family-owned wineries and try to feature as many small vineyards as we can.

Chris Kozlowski, the owner of the restaurant, previously worked as winemaker at Vigil Vineyards in Calistoga, California before opening up the restaurant. He is in the process of taking classes for the prestigious Master of Wine program at Boston University and writes all the wine lists. His first restaurant, Crescent City Bistro, received the coveted “2004 Award of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine for having “…one of the finest wine lists in the world.” We take great pride in our wines so don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions while dining at the Chop Shop.
